Agencies are also asked how they report their HIV counseling and testing data. The majority of agencies are funded by the New York State AIDS Institute and report all HIV Counseling and Testing activities through the URS.
What other obligations do I have as a participating agency?
When promoting a testing event, you should include the Project WAVE NY logo on your marketing materials, flyers, etc., and state that incentives for the event are given courtesy of Project WAVE NY.

What are the benefits for my agency partnering with Project WAVE NY?
Project WAVE NY assists lead agencies to identify and recruit collaborating agencies for each event and provides technical assistance for the agencies that provide HIV counseling and testing events statewide to reach the appropriate target populations. Project WAVE NY arranges for partner radio station promotion and participation events.
One of the benefits to partnering with Project WAVE NY is the availability of incentives via radio promotions and/or MetroCards, movie passes, or concert tickets (when available) when an individual agrees to take an HIV Antibody Test during an event. Project WAVE NY also provides and distributes condoms and promotional materials, including brochures, wallet cards, banners, and t-shirts free of charge to participating agencies. The list of incentives changes from day to day, based on availability. Additionally, Project WAVE NY is interested in working with your agency to make your testing event a success, and tailoring incentives to meet your needs. Member agencies are encouraged to propose other types of support and incentives that Project WAVE NY may purchase.
Project WAVE NY also has a video entitled "House on Fire" created in 2002 by Emmy Award Producer Mustafa Khan Productions that can be used to train service providers. Project WAVE NY can mail DVD copies of this video to your agency upon request.
Where and when are meetings held?
Project WAVE NY has quarterly meetings that are held in New York City and other meetings of regional Project WAVE groups as needed. These meetings are used to update member agencies on program changes and plan for collaboration on future events.
